Abstract

This paper examines the interface of sexism and ageism when older women are part of a mentoring relationship as either mentors or prottgks. Specifically, issues related to transitional phases, chronological age, and causal attributions for success are reviewed. Educational policies more responsive to the needs of women mentors and protigis are suggested.
