Abstract

The article emphasizes that throughout the history of mankind, the problem of violence against a person was and is one of the most urgent. It is still in the center of attention as politics, philosophy, law, sociology, psychology and other sciences.The Constitution and legal regulations of Ukraine formulate norms that protect human rights and freedoms from any form of violence. Yes, in Art. 3 of the Basic Law of Ukraine clearly states that “A person, his life and health, honor and dignity, inviolability and security are defined as the highest social value in Ukraine” [1].Based on the Constitution of Ukraine, international legal acts on the protection of human rights and freedoms, the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hereinafter the Criminal Code of Ukraine) states that it has the task of “legal protection of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen” [2].The article emphasizes that not only physical, but also mental violence plays an important role in the arsenal of violent actions against a person. Mental violence, first of all, is aimed not only at limiting the rights and freedoms of a person, but also causes great harm to his health and integrity, leads to moral and psychological suffering and humiliation of honor and dignity.The article states that mental violence is inherently an illegal, anti-humane, anti-social phenomenon, which ultimately has a negative impact on a person’s physical and mental health and can even lead to tragic consequences.The article focuses attention on the role and place of objective and subjective factors and determinants that push an individual to commit a criminal offense and, including, to mental violence.The article establishes that among the most dangerous forms and methods of mental violence against a person are beatings, beatings, which lead to the destruction of his mental state, depression, horror, fear and other moral and psychological consequences.Attention is focused on the most common forms nowadays: extortion, deception, fraud, intentional damage to property, which causes a person to feel a state of affect, depression, fear, neurosis and other negative factors. All these and other forms of mental violence cause not only deterioration of mental health, but as a result of mental aggression directed against the victim, he may lose his property and valuables.The article found out that nowadays scientific and technological progress has made significant changes in all spheres of social life, including personal behavior. His achievement actively uses criminality in his illegal activities. Among modern criminal offenses, cybercrime is particularly actively used as a form of mental violence, as well as the dissemination of false, unreliable, lying information directed not only against a real person, but also against his relatives and loved ones, which causes a person mental, shock, depression, shame and affect .
