Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the mental health literacy levels of individuals diagnosed with diabetes and the factors affecting this level. 
 Material and Methods: The study was conducted with 211 people who applied to the diabetes outpatient clinic of a training and research hospital between June and August 2022 and were not diagnosed for the first time. “Personal Information Form” and “Mental Health Literacy Scale” were used for data. 
 Results: In the study, the knowledge-based literacy sub-dimension mean score of individuals diagnosed with diabetes was 6.53±2.67, the belief-based literacy sub-dimension mean score was 3.62±1.95, the resource-oriented literacy sub-dimension mean score was 1.54±1.41 and The mean MHLS total score was 11.68±4.33.
