Abstract
Over the past several years, the perception of the role of an election official or poll worker has transitioned from a noble form of civic expression to a highly politicized position that could place the individual at personal risk. With the nation's politically charged atmosphere around elections unlikely to calm anytime soon, The Carter Center is renewing attention to its resource guide for the mental well‐being of election officials.
