Abstract

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a dysautonomia typically affecting young women. Symptoms include presyncope or syncope, palpitations, orthostatic intolerance, chest pain and migraine, which negatively impact the daily lives of people with POTS. This syndrome overwhelmingly affects peri-pubescent young women. We have previously described the significant effect of POTS, and its typically delayed diagnosis, on the education, employment and natural adolescent life of young women.
