Abstract

The men's rights movement has gained mainstream media attention and become a site of academic inquiry over the last two to three decades. The plethora of men's rights communities, media platforms, and concerns is diverse and requires critical attention to the nuances among different men's rights activists' goals and grievances. However, overarching interests and strategies can be identified; furthermore, the historical development of this social phenomenon provides an entry point to consider the similarities and differences among various men's rights groups. While men's rights online media and communities seem predominantly Western, the movement is growing in non‐Western countries too—notably in India.
