Abstract
The case of an 11-year-old girl with recent menarche presenting with heavy and uninterrupted menstrual cycle and severe iron deficiency anaemia is described. The diagnosis of post menarche hormonal dysfunction was finally made and the girl was successfully treated with oestrogen-progestogens.
