Abstract

This class action research aims to improve student learning outcomes by implementing scientific activities and visualization of subject matter. Research subjects in this study were high school students of Muhammadiyah High School in Sukabumi City (n = 20). The instrument used in this study was a multiple choice test to measure student learning outcomes, student observation sheet activities and interviews. The research method is classroom action research. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of scientific activities and visualization. scientific activities and visualization of subject matter can learners construct knowledge so that student learning outcomes have increase.

Waktu dan Tempat Penelitian

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Sukabumi pada kelas XII IPA semester gasal tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari bulan September sampai Oktober 2019. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas 12 IPA SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Sukabumi (n=20). Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilakukan pada dua kompetensi dasar yang berbeda. Setiap siklus mencakup satu kompetensi dasar yang dilakukan dalam 4 kali pertemuan. Siklus 1 dilakukan pada materi struktur DNA dan Sintesis Protein dan siklus 2 dilakukan pada materi Pembelahan Sel (mitosis dan meiosis). Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur hasil belajar peserta didik, lembar observasi aktivitas peserta didik dan wawancara kepada peserta didik untuk menggali informasi yang dibutuhkan. Pengukuran hasil belajar dilakukan diakhir setiap siklus
