Abstract

Learning mathematics is a teaching and learning process built by the teacher to develop students' creative thinking in constructing a procedural knowledge of mathematical material. This study aims to determine the increase in student achievement due to the implementation of the mathematical method of top material circumference and area of flat shapes in class III students at SDN 1 Padi, Tulakan sub-district, Pacitan Regency. This research is a quantitative research. The type of research is pre-experiment using the one group pretest-posttest research design. We conduct PTK with the method (collaboration classroom action research), namely collaboration with supervising teachers. Based on research data in the field, the researchers presented data on increasing the ability to determine the area and perimeter of simple mathematical flat shapes through the Gasing game for third grade students at SD Negeri 1 Padi Tulakan Pacitan. Teacher and student activities in teaching and learning activities obtained data on the process of teaching and learning activities of teachers and students each cycle has increased. The final score on teacher activity increased from 72.2 in cycle I to 82.3 in cycle II. Likewise, student activity increased from 68.3 in cycle I to 78.2 in cycle II.
