Abstract
The aim of this paper is simply to describe the content of a book by Abu Bakr Muhammad Ibn Ishaq Ibn Khuazaymah al-Nisaburi al-Shafi’i called Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah. The book deals mainly with the tradition of the prophet. A deeper analysis on the book however reveals that it also contains a fairly good exposition of fiqh and its general rules. In this paper we would try to unlock this aspect of the book and find out how the discursive interaction between hadith and fiqh takes place in it. Our approach is critical in that it will question the validity of some hadith under investigation. We believe that not all hadiths in the book are valid and authentic.
