Abstract
Taking hermeneutical approaches, the present research tries to provide a new form of Qur’ānic interpretation of supplications comprised within the history of Abraham and Moses. Two ways to be conducted in this research: First, to apply Hirsch’s hermeneutics theory in reconstructing meanings as found in classical tafsir. Second, to excavate significances of the supplication verses on the basis of their validly verbal meanings. This last attempt is to apply some reconciliatory theses of Palmer’s “hermeneutics manifesto” to enliven meanings. Summary
Kisah para nabi atau rasul dalam al-Qur’ān banyak memberikan pelajaran dan hikmah bagi umat Islam, terutama mengenai doa. Namun ketidak-patuhan suku-suku Israel terhadap perintah Allah untuk berperang dengan penguasa bengis yang menguasai tanah suci yang dijanjikan Tuhan bagi mereka sebelumnya telah membuat Nabi Mūsā merasa bahwa ia tak memiliki kekuatan selain dirinya sendiri dan saudaranya Hārūn, sehingga beliau pun memohon kepada Allah agar dipisahkan dari kaumnya yang berbuat kefasikan (QS 5:25). Ia pun menjadi tidak merasa takut lagi kepada Fir‘awn, baik terhadap sifat pemarahnya maupun terhadap bala tentaranya yang sangat banyak yang dimiliki oleh Fir‘awn.[42] Dapat dicerna di sini bahwa kembali ke Mesir dan menemui Fir‘awn sedikit menyisakan ketakutan dalam diri Nabi Mūsā, mengingat masa lalu menyiratkan ada hubungan yang tidak terlalu baik di antara kedua mereka. Selain maknanya yang menyejarah, signifikansinya untuk kemanfaatan pembaca yang hidup di masa kini dapat digali melalui pendekatan hermeneutika dalam menafsirkan alQur’ān
