Abstract
ABSTRACT A revised model of group development for all-male groups is presented. The purpose of such groups is the restoration of relational connection. The model emphasizes the creation of a safe environment as a necessary first stage, with conflict and difference occurring at a later stage. The author builds on ideas from the “Boston model” and Linda Schiller's work on group developmental stages. The model is based on practice experience with over sixty men's groups, led by more than two dozen practitioners.
