Abstract
A new design of dual-band frequency and polarization reconfigurable microstrip antenna is proposed. It consists of the slotted ground plane with the micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) switches in order to switch the frequency bands and polarization. While, this antenna uses MEMS switches to achieve frequency switching between 1.575GHz and 1.615GHz, corresponding to maintain RHCP radiation and LHCP radiation, respectively. The antenna is simulated using the finite element method (FEM). And the simulated using the finite element method (FEM). And the results also show that the antenna has good reconfigurability and the circular polarization performance. The antenna design demonstrates desirable features for GPS and other wireless communication applications.
