Abstract
This study aims at a theoretical reflection about the importance of giving voice and listen to the collective memory and history of life of older people, since they can contribute their own identity, but also to spread knowledge to other generations. It is clear that contemporary society does not grant this population due weight and respect, and, often, the elderly are seen as no function. However, the elderly should be understood as a social being, potential transmitter of collective memories of the social groups to which he belongs and wealth for society.
