Abstract

The phenomenon of the rise of the spiritual and the decline of traditional religion become a global trend, not only in Indonesia, but also in many other countries. While there may be an increase in the number of avowed atheists and agnostics, there is also as “spiritual but not religious.” Spiritualism became the answer to the mental and psychological excesses of modern people especially those living in urban areas. In addition, a number of sects and schools of thought which later became the foundation of many spiritual educations began to emerge, or at least have a lot of new findings and approaches as a result of the findings of modern science, to develop spiritual dimension. This article will discuss further abaut that phenomenon.
