Abstract

Memories of War is a series of liberally translated passages of my Russian manuscript memoirs. The first part of Memories of War represents my youthful attitude towards the USSR and Germany at the beginning of the war. It also contains many facts and details of life in the city of Kiev and people's behaviour during the initial period of the Soviet‐German war.... Now I'm trying to imagine what I felt and what I was thinking about on that evening 22 June 1941, after I got to know about the German aggression against my country.
