Abstract
This article is based on oral histories of Spanish speaking immigrants from El Salvador and other Central American countries, among other immigrants in Prince George's County, MD, which defines the start of the town's international character. The focus on the memories of the immigrants' school days experiences attempts to add one more perspective of the immigrants' life course in Langley Park, MD. Methodologically, this study eclectically blends approaches from ethnography and historiography for exploring and revealing the way in which people and institution (school) intersect, exchange, and affect each other. Chronologically, the narrated experiences reflect the past 25 years of Langley Park McCormick Elementary.
