Abstract

In article number 1705327, Seth B. Darling, Zhi-Kang Xu, and co-workers describe how mussel-inspired chemistry, based on polydopamine coatings, is poised to revolutionize the field of membrane science. Interface engineering mediated by polydopamine enables enormous flexibility in tuning surface properties—largely independent of the native properties of the starting membrane material.
