Abstract
The separation of model solutions of whey nanofiltration permeate, which is a wastewater at the majority of enterprises, has been investigated using the techniques of low-pressure reverse osmosis and electrodialysis. A process flow diagram for the treatment of such wastewater is proposed. Electrodialysis enabling us to remove up to 80% of mineral salts is recommended with subsequent concentration of diluate by using the low-pressure reverse osmosis. The possible uses of resultant solutions are also described.
