Abstract

In this work, the extraction performance of poly(vinylidene fluoride) hollow fibre membranes during bromine recovery from aqueous bromine solution was studied. The results showed that feed volume flow, feed solution concentration and temperature were vital for both flux and mass transfer coefficient; however, the stripping volume flow and stripping played a negligible role on both flux and mass transfer coefficient. A mathematical model was developed to predict the bromine recovery behaviour, and the results of this model agreed well with the experimental data.
