Abstract

Image is a term from the world of industry that is currently entered in the education world, especially the Islamic educational institutions. Today the business is very important imaging in the presence of Islamic educational institutions, this is due to the more important and urgent to establish the image of Islamic educational institutions in response to his role in educating generations of the nation, especially in the framework of the unitary republik of Indonesia. Pendahuluan

Lembaga pendidikan Islam mulai mendapat perhatian manakala pemerintah Indonesia mengesahkan UU No 23 Tahun 2003 tentang Sisdiknas, di mana dalam Undang-Undang tersebut mengakui lembaga pendidikan Islam sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal sejajar dengan lembaga-lembaga pendidikan yang ada dalam Kementrian Pendidikan Nasional. Tiga faktor utama penyebab rendahnya kualitas pendidikan Indonesia, sebagaimana yang disampaikan oleh Husaini Usman, yaitu; (1) Penyelenggaraan pendidikan menekankan pada hasil tidak konsisten; (2) Penyelenggaraan pendidikan dilakukan secara terpusat dan tidak holistik; (3) Peran serta masyarakat dalam dunia Pendidikan sangat minim.. Tantangan yang paling nyata terhadap keberadaan lembaga-lembaga pendidikan Islam adalah: (1) Pendidikan diselenggarakan dengan manajemen seadanya, (2) Kurang adanya publikasi lembaga pendidikan Islam ke masyarakat luas, (3) Banyaknya warga Muslim yang lebih memilih sekolah lain karena faktor mutu dan kualitas sekolah tersebut, (4) Banyak masyarakat yang tidak mengenal madrasah secara utuh sebagai pendidikan modern.. Pencitraan merupakan hasil dari budaya sekolah yang berasal dari nilai-nilai yang menjadi pedoman dan patokan pada lembaga pendidikan sehingga nilai-nilai yang telah menjadi pedoman tersebut kemudian dilaksanakan secara konsisten dan membentuk opini masyarakat tentang keberadaan lembaga yang berkualitas.
