Abstract

Experimental data on the mercury melting curve in the pressure range of (1000–14500)·105 N/m2 and the corresponding temperatures of −30 to +33°C are provided. The phase-transition pressures were measured with a piston manometer up to 15000·105 N/m2. It has been shown that the experimental data can be represented adequately by the equation of F. E. Simon. Equation (2) is in good agreement with experimental data up to 70·108 N/m2.
