Abstract

An integral transform method for the analysis of an asymmetric coplanar stripline is presented in this article. The electrostatic boundary value problem of a dielectric wedge backed slotted conducting wedge is considered to analyze the asymmetric coplanar striplines utilizing the Mellin transform and a mode-matching approach. Analytic computations for the capacitance and characteristic impedance are conducted to illustrate the characteristics of the asymmetric coplanar striplines in terms of the strip geometry and relative permittivity of a dielectric substrate. The computed results are compared with the results by means of a simulation using commercial software and by conformal mapping.
