Abstract A description is provided for Meliola crucifera . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. DISEASE: Meliola crucifera can produce chlorotic zones in the leaves, under and around the colonies. HOSTS: Melicocca bijuga, M. lepidopetala, Melicocca sp., Paullinia pinnata, Sapindus saponaria, Sapindus senegalensis . GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Caribbean: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico. Central America: Panamá. South America: Paraguay, Venezuela. TRANSMISSION: By air-borne ascospores.
