Abstract

A patient with gastrointestinal bleeding was found to have a benign adenoma of the ampulla of Vater. The condition was treated by local transduodenal resection of the duodenal papilla, which is considered the treatment of choice. The roentgenographic epsilon sign of tumors of the major duodenal papilla is illustrated and its significance emphasized.
