Abstract
The article delves into melancholy created by symbols in Edgar Allen Poe’s poem “The Raven”. Poe is good at using symbols to create feelings in his poems. This article will analyze how the four symbols, Lenore, the raven, the time setting “midnight in the December” and the space setting “chamber” create a melancholy mood in the poem “The Raven”.
