Abstract

The growth of megrim ( Lepidorhombus whiffiagonis) in northeast Atlantic waters (ICES Divisions VIIchjk, VIIIab and VIIIc) was analysed using mean lengths by age class. Slight differences in growth rates were found in the ICES Divisions from VIIchjk to VIIIc2. Growth in Zone VIIIc1 was the most rapid, with the smallest length and age range. A faster growth occurs in females than males, and the females also reach the greatest lengths and ages. There are also some differences related to depth.
