Abstract
With the arrival of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to the presidency of the republic, many Mexicans believed that public policies on development would change. But this was not the case. That was clear from his first public speeches as president of the republic, confirmed by the integration of his cabinet and the announcement of the mega-projects, those of previous governments and those of his own government. In all these acts, the of change disregarded the rights of the indigenous peoples, which meant that a wide swath of their popular vote soon turned against him and now represents a brake on his attempts to continue the policies of dispossession. The way this has happened in his first year of government is described in this document.
