Abstract
The 2018 IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) International Microwave Symposium (IMS2018) Student Design Competition was held on 12 June 2018. The objective of this particular competition, jointly sponsored by MTT-S technical committees (TCs) TC-7, Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Solid-State Devices, and TC-6, Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Integrated Circuits, was to design a 16-state quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) radio. All competitors were required to design, construct, measure, and demonstrate a 16-QAM wireless transmitter operating at 963 MHz. The competition rules were as described in IMS2018 Student Design Competition Rules.
