Abstract

Depigmenting skin disorders, such as vitiligo and piebaldism, can severely alter the physical appearance leading to social stigmatization and an impaired quality of life.1 To date, several surgical methods of autologous skin transplantation are available for treating stable depigmented lesions to achieve repigmentation.2,3 Tissue grafting techniques, such as split-thickness and blister grafting, have the highest repigmentation rates4 , however they are poorly suited for treating larger lesions due to the low expansion rate of the donor skin (1:1 expansion ratio).5.
