Abstract

In November 1982 the Heating and the PRE (Partial Reflection Experiment) facility near Tromsö (Norway) were operated together in a pulsed mode as a radar system to investigate structures in the middle atmosphere. For the first time echoes from the upper troposphere and stratosphere have been detected on a frequency of 2.75 MHz.
