Abstract
Strange particles such as the kaon and lambda are useful in probing theproperties of dense matter formed in heavy-ion collisions. Here we reviewthe theoretical understanding of their properties in a nuclearmedium based on both the effective chiral Lagrangian and thephenomenological hadronic model. We further review the effects due tochanges in their in-medium properties on their collective flow inheavy-ion collisions.
