Medilac-vita combined with smectite powder in treatment of neonatal jaundice

Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of medilac-vita combined with smectite powder in treatment of neonatal jaundice.Methods One hundred and twenty patients were randomly divided into two groups,the treatment group (60 patients) were treated in the conventional therapy plus medilac-vita and smectite powder oral; the control group(60 patients) were treated with conventional therapy.Every 24 h with trace bilirubin measurement of serum bilirubin; When serum bilirubin drop to 119.7 μmol/L below the end of treatment,observation index for the two groups were treated daily bilirubin values and decreased time spent.Results The average daily treatment group decreased bilirubin value was greater than the control group,the difference was statistically significant ( t=3.52,P<0.05).Course of the treatment group was significantly shorter than the control group,the difference was statistically significant (t=4.58,P<0.05).Conclusions Medilac-vita combined with smectite powder on neonatal jaundice,bilirubin can increase the average daily decline in value and used to shorten treatment time,the long-term effects need further study and discussion.
