Abstract

To the Editor.— Eisen et al 1 found no significant decrement in patient medication compliance between once- and twice-daily regimens. In a study of epilepsy patients, 2 we also found a linear decline, but no statistically significant differences in compliance among one, two, or three daily doses (87%, 81%, 77%, respectively). The four-times-a-day regimen (39%) was significantly lower than all others ( P P JAMA due to a copy editor's error. Although JAMA reported the error in a later issue, we wish to notify readers of the correct interpretation of our data. Indeed, we concur with Eisen et al that multiple daily dosing schedules are difficult for patients to maintain. Simplification of regimens and direct discussion about compliance are easy
