Abstract

This paper reports baseline data measures on predictor traits of leadership emergence and effectiveness gathered from medical students at a Midwestern medical school. First year medical students completed surveys assessing transformational leadership, leader humility, motivational sources, and the big five personality traits. Results from these baseline measures are presented and implications for medical student leadership education are discussed.
