Abstract
The Health Policy paper by Fitzhugh Mullan and colleagues on medical schools in sub-Saharan Africa (March 26, p 1113)1 describes the current problems of medical education and the urgent need for scaling up in quantity and quality, but it does not propose a sound solution for the most pressing problem—ie, the scarcity of qualified faculty.1,2
