Medical schools as gatekeepers: A survey and analysis of factors predicting dermatology residency placement

Abstract

To the Editor: Dermatology is among the most competitive specialties for residency applicants. With an increasingly rigorous match process, successful applicants typically have strong US Medical Licensing Examination scores alongside extensive research experience.
