Abstract

An account is given of some of the medical findings of two safaris — one to Equatorial Africa and South Africa and the other to India and the Persian Gulf. A short account is given of some clinical research carried out at the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a result of these safaris. Some of the resulting changes in hospital practice are mentioned. He considers how Western man's animal protein, animal fat orientated diet has affected the domesticated creature population, use of land, etc. In conclusion the health record of vegetarians is mentioned and a plea is made that consideration be given to this being the true direction in which Western man should slowly be moving nutritionally.
