Abstract

Transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) requires participation in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) and is subject to increased scrutiny of preoperative medications from industry representatives, which is absent in transfemoral carotid artery stenting (tfCAS) and carotid endarterectomy (CEA). The goal of this project is to determine if optimal preoperative medical therapy for stenting (sOMT: statin and P2Y12-inhibitor therapy) is disparate for these procedures in the VQI, and assess the impact on perioperative outcomes.
