Abstract

<h3>COLORADO.</h3><h3>March Mortality.</h3> —During March, 1907, 875 deaths were reported, equivalent to an annual death rate per 1,000 of 16.07. Scarlet fever caused 28 deaths, typhoid fever 11, diphtheria 10 and smallpox 2. <h3>Infectious Diseases.</h3> —During March there were reported 376 cases of scarlet fever, 144 of smallpox, 58 of typhoid and 43 cases of diphtheria, an increase as compared with February, of 215 cases of scarlet fever, 40 cases of smallpox, 11 cases of diphtheria and 1 case of typhoid fever. <h3>Personal.</h3> —Dr. B. G. Weisel, Glenwood, was seriously injured in a runaway accident, April 9.—Dr. John W. Morgan, Denver, is convalescent after an operation for appendicitis. —Dr. William C. Mitchell, city bacteriologist of Denver, has gone to Europe to study the inoculation theory of tuberculosis.—Dr. Amassa M. Bucknum, Denver, was thrown from his carriage in a collision with an electric car, May 1, and suffered severe contusions.
