Abstract

<h3>CALIFORNIA.</h3> <b>Dr. Kate P. Van Orden</b>, Ventura, has been appointed a member of the board of health. <b>Dr. John J. Kinyoun</b>, Federal quarantine officer at San Francisco, who has made himself<i>persona non grata</i>, because of his refusal to conceal the existence of plague in San Francisco, has been transferred to St. Paul, Minn. He will be succeeded by Dr. Duncan A. Carmichael, now Federal quarantine officer at Honolulu, Hawaii. <h3>Plague in San Francisco.</h3> —The Medical Society of the State of California, on April 17, passed a resolution expressing confidence that the San Francisco Board of Health, the State Board and the Government Commission will be able to watch and take proper measures for suppression of the plague in California. <h3>ILLINOIS.</h3> <b>The Semi-centennial in Medicine</b>, of Drs.
