Abstract

Malpractice reform is one of the hottest political topics among physicians. Soaring premiums have threatened the financial viability of medical practices in a number of states, including Florida, West Virginia and Texas, where the problem has received wide attention. Surgeons have gone on strike in Nevada, and physicians have held repeated public demonstrations in New Jersey.
