Abstract
The author of Medical and Dental Hypnosis is a practicing English psychiatrist with wide experience in general medicine. He addresses himself primarily to the general practitioner who wishes to use hypnotic techniques in his daily practice, but does not know where and how to begin. On this side of the Atlantic, where specialization is much more common than in Great Britain, members of all branches of medicine may profitably read this book, and even the psychiatrist or psychotherapist will find valuable information in it. While no complete substitute for attending hypnosis workshops and practices, or better still, individual instruction, the book goes a long way to provide the reader with knowledge of the theoretical background and applicability of hypnotic treatment.
