Abstract

Toll-like receptor (TLR) pathway is crucially involved in initiating innate immune response against microbes. Dysregulation of TLRs can exacerbate immune-inflammatory responses and genetic variations within tlr genes contributes to differential risk to infection. This study is aimed to examine the role of genetic variations within tlr2, tlr3, and tlr4 genes as well as genes coding for intracellular signalling molecules such as myd88, nf-kb1, ikbα, traf3, traf6, trif, and irf3 of TLR pathway.
