Abstract

BackgroundPatella dislocation and instability are reasons for anterior knee pain. The Elmslie Trillat procedure (Tibial tuberosity medialisation) is discussed as a treatment of these problems because of the invasiveness and long recovery especially in sports people. But many studies show the good results after this surgery. Materials and MethodsIn this 1-year follow-up study the effect of the arthroscopically assisted Elmslie procedure was evaluated in a total of 35 patients pre- and postoperative clinically and with a scale (VAS 0-10) for pain, capacity, ability of sports and individual satisfaction. ResultsThere was a decrease of pain of 55% and an increase in capacity of 38,9%, ability of sports of 38,2% and individual satisfaction. The median increase of ability of sports was 5,3 month after surgery.
