Abstract

This article discusses social media as a medium for university information services. The purpose of this study was to determine the social media used by public relations at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu as a State Islamic Religious College under the Ministry of Religion as a form for information services. The research method used is “field research”. The informants of this research are the editor and admin of the official social media manager of UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. The results Humas of UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu performs its functions as university public relations, including: providing public information services through social media (instagram, youtube and facebook fanspages) become the focus of university information and documentation service and establish relationships with various media (media relations). As well as social media managers (instagram, youtube and facebook fanspage) as a form for public information services managed by public relations at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu, which are effective in manage agency information with the public. The result by the achievement of 2nd place in the webomatric of universities in Bengkulu Province.
