Abstract

Summary 1.A review of the literature shows that while meconium peritonitis is uncommon, it is almost uniformly fatal without surgical treatment. 2.Surgical treatment offers a good change for survival, as it has been shown that the peritonitis is due to perforation of the intestine, resulting usually from a congenital intestinal obstruction. 3.A case report of surgical treatment with survival has been presented.
