Abstract
The paper deals with the mechatronic concept of automotive suspensions as suspensions with controlled shock absorbers together with the performance indexes being considered and the achieved results. Especially important is the discussion about the different performance indexes from the point of which the mechatronic suspension can designed and optimised. It covers the driver comfort, the load friendliness, the road and bridge friendliness. The paper describe the design methodology of such mechatronic design, present actuator and sensoric technology and the recently obtained results.
