Abstract

AbstractThe effect of the mechanoactivation on Y2O3, Nd2O3 and CeO2, on mixtures of La2O3 with each of these oxides as well as on the solid solutions La2O3–CeO2 is studied. The activation causes a decrease of the individual oxides' unit cell parameters. The formation of solid solutions of La2O3 with the oxides studied is found. Under the conditions of activation in air no decomposition of La2O3–CeO2 solid solution is detected. The solution is, however, destroyed when the activation is carried out in the presence of acids.
