Abstract

AbstractPanaxan A did not affect the activities of hepatic glucokinase and hexokinase but decreased glucose‐6‐phosphatase activity. Although panaxan B did not influence the activities of these enzymes, it showed a tendency to reduce hepatic glycogen synthetase activity, and panaxans A and B elevated the phosphorylase activity. Panaxan B lowered the glycogen content in the liver. Panaxans A and B significantly increased the activities of glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase and phosphofructokinase in the liver.
